The 7th Anniversary

Friday, August 29, 2008

Hey People!!! I'm officially back to blogosphere now! You have no clue how much I miss blogging, reading blogs and leaving comments to you all. Anyway, beware of my mass updates from this moment on, I'm on one month holidays. Wooooo Hooooo~~

As you demanded, I'm here to start my 7th years anniversary celebration. It was just a simple yet meaningful celebration. Since we treated our Vegas trip in July as our "honeymoon" trip for this anniversary, we just wanted to make it simple (in fact, we want to money).

We went to a cozy yet high end restaurant called McCormick & Schmick's Harborside.

restaurant+me
Immensely casual on this special occasion.

darling
Darling at the restaurant.

I really like the atmosphere. It felt like dining on a ferry boat with the river view. Super relaxing and enjoying!

Most important, the foods were mouthwatering!

After the fine dining, we went for a spontaneously walked along the river.

nightview1
It was endearingly romantic, especially with the peaceful view.

nightview+me
Wearing the same dress. I barely have time to shop at that particular moment. I really like this dress though, it makes me look slimmer :p

In the sense of keeping the celebrating mood, we continually indulged ourselves in a local unique Rimsky-Korsakoffee House for desserts.

cafe+me1
A customer friendly place for chatting.

cafe
That was actually my 2nd time visit, musicians will play for the customers occasionally.

darling+cafe
Darling was slightly impressed by this hidden coffee house. It is just nearby but we never explore before.

cafe+me2
Although I can't really find a place like mamak in US, it's pleasure enough to discover this unique place.

I mentioned unique, twice, to describe this house. The most uniqueness spot is actually located in the WASHROOM. Seriously...

toilet1

toilet2
Dare you use the restroom!

Despite the calories and fats that I have consumed that night, I was pleasantly grateful for everything. Thank you darling, for making this happen. May our love grows stronger each and everyday.

latte+me
Now, cheer for the blissful celebration!

P/S: Buddies, thanks for all the blessing and supports!!! I got A for my study! I'm going to have a mini size party at home tonight! Woooo Hoooo~~

One more day

Thursday, August 28, 2008

I supposed to update NOW!!! However, I got a little tipsy after a few sips of alcohol drink. Yeah, I'm lame, you don't have to remind me about that.

One more day and I'll share with you my 7th years anniversary celebration as you demanded.

latte+me
*Attention*
I wasn't drinking alcohol in this picture, it was latte! Had it on my anniversary celebration :)

Wait for me

Friday, August 22, 2008

This week is going to be a tough week for me. All my assignments due on next week and I found myself barely have time to rest (I mean, rest peacefully). Distressingly worry about my grades. Partially because of hard work, but mainly due to the tuition fees (I pay so much!!! Too much). I am a calculative person (well, to some extents), I value every single cent that I have spent. Somehow I don't care about high cost if it promises high quality (like Louis Vuitton :p).

Michael and Frank, both of my lecturers in this term, hope you both understand how desperately I need an A (if you read this). Your grading represents the value of the money that I have spent at Marylhusrt University. And this, ultimately affects the reputation of the university if you aware I am one of the famous blogger (self-nominated) in Malaysia.

Finally, a note to all my fellow readers!

Guess what, you can now decide the content of Beverly's Secret. Your demand is granted! Tell me what you want to read next by voting the poll on your left! Vote fast, I will update as soon as I accumulate 100 votes :)

Ok, I lied. I won't be able to update till next week. Wait for me, ok?

Thanks and Congrats

New family members

Sunday, August 17, 2008

Mum, just relax, I'm not pregnant. New family members are simply stands for some new gadgets that I have bought lately.

Right now, I'm actually stretching my legs and lying on my new couch while typing this entire post. A new microfiber couch definitely contributed additional element to my living room.

couch
Precisely fits my small apartment.

Also, it matched well with my Sharps 46" LCD television.

tv
I took picture as soon as I got it in June, that's why you see me in my previous hairstyle. I really should unwrap the box and show you what's inside, but I was lazy on taking picture, even till now :p

Now is the Nintendo Wii turns, I owned you this for so long.

wii2
This is everything I got for Wii except Mario Galaxy game.

remote
If you're not a frequent visitor of Beverly's Secret, here's a piece of information for you. I pimped my Wii remote control!

Since I started my study, laptop seems surprisingly significant to me. Thus, the Apple promotion for college students appealed me.

macbook1

Upgraded MacBook in white with US$ 100 discount.

Hace Poco

Friday, August 15, 2008

I'm not introducing any new alien term, hace poco stands for recently in Spanish. My friends and family have been impatiently complained about my lack of blogging. Despite heavy load assignments, I'm doing great. My recent life is about meeting new friends and searching nice restaurants that open late (my classes end at 9.15pm, it is impossible for me to cook).

buddies1
Karin from Taiwan (left) and Masako from Japan (right).

buddies2
Sayako from Japan too (right).

buddies3
From left to right, Leo (Taiwan), Lulu (Taiwan), Sayako (Japan), Karin (Taiwan) and Beverly (rare species from Malaysia).

How we meet one another? Hmm...Long story though. Don't mistaken, we are not classmates. They come here to enhance and improve their English proficiency and I, volunteer myself as a conversation partner to help them feel comfortable to use English in daily conversation. Fate brought us together and I really appreciate the opportunity to meet friends around the world.

Speaking of opportunity, my late classes allow me to dine out late on every Monday and Thursday. Most of the restaurants in Portland close at 9pm during weekdays, it's a challenging task for me to search for yummy foods with limited choices. Somehow I found one.

street
Jake's Restaurant, famous in seafoods. I chose to dine along the street for summer sake.

me
I look exhausted after my class usually.

wings
Buffalo Wings with blue cheese (I hate blue cheese), US$ 1.99.

wrap
Shrimps wraps, US$ 1.99.

crawfish
Crawfishes, US$ 3.99.

Ohh, I ordered a New England clam chowder (US$ 7.99) too but forgot to take picture. Too hungry I supposed. Hehe...Those foods are not very impressive but eatable. I just want to stuff myself! And those foods are surprisingly cheap during happy hours. What can I ask for more?

** Coming Up Next **
ipod
Sorry for waiting so long, guys. I will reveal my gadgets soon! I-pod Touch, Macbook, Wii, 46" LCD TV and my new couch!

Smooth it out

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Sorry for lack of blogging recently. I'm dying soon with 2 term papers. Time flies! Two more weeks to go, I'll done with my first semester for graduate study. No matter how busy I am dealing with assignments and stress, I would never neglect my skin! Remember what I always call myself? A beauty warrior.

One of the beauty of online shopping is you still able to do shopping even when you don't have time to sleep or eat. Apparently, I bought some skincare products from Sasa.com in June. However, it turned out as an unpleasant process due to their lame online shopping system and slow response for customer service. I accidentally ordered one extra product and dying to cancel that order. Every time I attempted to contact them (in Hong Kong), the phone call will automatically transferred to voice mail and no one ever reply me. Another stupid thing is, they took their sweet time, one month, to approve my credit card (I'm holding HSBC credit card, a Hong Kong bank) until I reluctantly recall what I've bought.

I know, I should write a complain letter to them, maybe a suggestion letter to help them improve. But I do not have time to deal with all these hassle yet unwanted issues. Eventually, I have to shout I will NOT (dare to) place any order at Sasa.com in future since it requires more work than other online shopping companies.

Unfortunately, I forced to spend a total of US$ 89.60 at Sasa.com with a complimentary FREE bad customer service. Sigh... Let's see what I've got here.

eyemask
Hisamitsu LIFECELLA Essence Sheet Mask (5 pieces)
US$ 5.00

base
B & C Ultraskin Make Up Base For Pores (Natural)
US$ 9.80

lotion
JUJU Cosmetics AQUAMOIST Vitamin C Toner (150 ml)
US$ 12.80

moisturizer
JUJU Cosmetics AQUAMOIST Vitamin C Cream (50 g)
US$ 15.20

Sadly, I got the same Chanel eye cream (US$ 44.40) that I initially bought from Strawberry.net! I wanted to cancel this product but the Sasa.com system didn't allow me to do so! Damn... Now I have two bloody costly Chanel eye creams with me.

Don't ask me how these products work for me. I only have time to buy but do not have time to try yet.

** Additional - products review **

foudation
Revlon Mineral Foundation, US$ 10.90.
Mineral foundation is on demand in United States. It is usually found in powder form. Basically, you just have to brush it all over your face. Very easy to wear I might say. You'll benefit from its numerous minerals and flawless texture in few seconds. This product provides a visible result as soon as you apply it but the brush attached in the foundation is too harsh.

sunscreen
Clinique UV-Response Body SPF 50, US$ 18.50.
I will rated this 7 out of 10. It's not the best sun screen product I have used but its oil-free formula leaves you a less greasy and smoother texture. Also, it is quite effective since I do not get any sunburn or suntan so far.

eyelash
Ardell eye lashes, US$ 5.90.
If you want a dolly look with seductive eye lashes, this product suits you the most! It is definitely unsuitable for daily wear but you can use this on special events or party. An affordable tool to doll up yourself!
