Beautiful

Beautiful, you're beautiful, as beautiful as the sun
Wonderful, you're wonderful, as wonderful as they come
And I can't help but feel attached
To the feelings I can't even match
With my face pressed up to the glass, wanting you

Beautiful, you're beautiful, as beautiful as the sky
Wonderful, it's wonderful, to know that you're just like I
And I'm sure you know me well, as I'm sure you don't
But you just can't tell
Who'll you love and who you won't

And I love you, as you love me
So let the clouds roll by your face
We'll let the world spin on to another place
We'll climb the tallest tree above it all
To look down on you and me and them

And I'm sure you know me well, as I'm sure you don't
But you just can't tell, who you'll love and who you won't

Don't let your life wrap up around you
Don't forget to call, whenever
I'll be here just waiting for you
I'll be under your stars forever
Neither here nor there just right beside you
I'll be under the stairs forever
Neither here nor there just right beside you

Terribly in love,
Bev

Sleepless Shanghai - Part I

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Jeez... I think I'll never able to complete those forever pending New Mexico & Taiwan posts, have been travel too frequent this year, too much to blog, to much to share.

Just finished an almost 2-hour long-distance call with Chean, and throughout the conversation, we both agreed simultaneously that this year has been the craziest year to us, physically and emotionally, too much to bear. I have no idea how we manage to get through this, but somehow we able to slide down this bumpy road hand in hand. I only feel infinite gratitude for everything life has prepared me for, especially this one-of-the-dreams-come-true Shanghai (SH) trip. A big thanks to Eling, who dared to join me on this real spontaneous trip.

SS_1
#1 Indulging midnight caffeine fix at KLIA.

SS_2
#2 Right on board with BFF Eling~~

After a not-so-long-red-eye flight, we kissed the amazing SH for the first time in our lives...

SS_7
#3 Found our hotel! Quick & easy. To be honest, the city planning and development is a lot better than Malaysia.

SS_3
#4 Kingtown Riverside Hotel Plaza Shanghai, definitely an awesome place for newbies.

Friendly staff with attentive service, they knew that we had a long flight and thoughtfully allowed us to check in at 10am (the usual check-in time is at 3pm).

#19 Y.U.M!!! We went there twice~~ Just way too good although pretty crowded all the time. Can't complain though, this restaurant is just too famous.

佳家汤包黄河路店.
地址 (Add): 黄河路90号(近凤阳路) 90 Huanghe Road, near Fengyang Road.
电话 (Tel): 021-63276878.
营业时间 (Business Hour): 0630-1800

If you traveled by metro, make your stop at People Square (人民广场) then take the exit 10 (十号出口站).

SS_24
#25 I know, we are darn touristy right? Can't help it.

SS_26
#26 You can take the mini train (that's how I called it, I don't bloody care bout its real name) for brief sightseeing if your want.

SS_28
#27 What do you notice? I know cool building but there's a significant culture difference--they bike without safety helmet. Yup, safety helmet is not in Chinese's dictionary I guess. And don't be too surprised if you see 4 persons riding on a motorcycle at the same time.

SS_30
#28 People Square!!! Real happening, beyond crowded and super noisy. But you have to check it out at least once.

SS_27
#29

SS_29
#30 Love all the splendid and historic buildings...

It was a really long walk though; SH is way bigger than what we thought. To save energy for the next couple days, we dragged the exhausted bodies back to the hotel and ended the night with Tsingtao, the local beers. Guess what, it only costs RMB 5 (approximately RM 2.50 or US$ 0.90).

SS_37
#33 Cheers to Shanghai, to this beautiful city and to our lifelong friendship.

Forest Gump's momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." But well, you need to at least have the courage to open the box before discovering or tasting the bitterness or sweetness of life.

Have a great adventure everyone~~

Bev
