Just another casual day

Isn't it cool when you don't have to think about what to wear, what make up to put on, what handbag to carry before heading out? Just spontaneously pick whatever you like and yet still confidently rock your day.

I have fun doing it. Really.

Saigon (Vietnamese foods) is famous with their Beef Noodle Soup or beef dishes. However, I just don't eat beef. Hehe... Chean said beef noodle tastes better but I think chicken is the best :p

In the evening, we brought Miyaki to his favorite park. He was over excited I guess.

Everybody Freeze

The day right after I arrived Portland, I brought Miyaki out for a walk.

"Oh, is he Miyaki?" A stranger stopped by and asked.
"Yeah, he is." I answered, curiously.

Then, I walked Miyaki to the nearest dog park.

"Miii...ya...ki...!!!" A women shouted excitingly.
"Hi..." I courteously replied.

You might not know, Miyaki is really popular in my neighborhood. I wasn't know too until that day.

Miyaki has a bright personality that everyone adores. He is friendly. He is playful. And sometimes a little hyperactive, I thought.

I always wanted to groom him for a glamor shot but he won't let me. Now, I know how~~

It's the shirt that "freeze" him. He doesn't like us to groom him, therefore every time I put the shirt on him, he'll stop moving, lay on his bed and give me a pity look.

Even so, I still can't stop myself. I just love to groom him up!!! Super cute~~

Simple life-Part I

Do trust me, I did try very hard to do some cleaning and unpacking for this post. Unfortunately, jet lag is killing me.

So I decided to not show you my new condo all at once. Instead, I'll do it part by part which means less work at a time :p

It's just a very simple layout basically, 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Yet, it's not quite a loft nor a traditional condo to me. Guess this is the reason why we move in, it's just something that's in between these two categories.

Oh, it comes with an awesome balcony too. People call this area as patio here in U.S. but I think balcony is more appropriate.

Lightweight make-up always give me a fresher, younger and healthier look. I do it most of the time when I go to school, grab for lunch, walk Miyaki, quick-shop at Walgreen and the list goes on.

Essential tools for natural make-up:
1) Powder or mouse foundation
2) Eyebrow pencil
3) Eyeshadow in neutral/earth color
4) Eyeliner (gel or pencil)
5) Eyelash curler and mascara
6) Bronzer in neutral-earth color
7) Lip balm or gloss

It's uncomplicated at all~~ And I bet most of you girls already have those tools with you :) Just let me know if you need more guidance on this.

Ok, the next thing I wanna talk about is my sweetest date ever on last Friday, we pushed it to Saturday actually. My bad, I overslept :p

So, I got up early on Saturday and dressed up and prepared myself for the mystery gift. I thought I would pick up my jewelry in the Tiffany&Co store, but Chean gave it to me, surprisingly.

(We did went to the store again for another surprise! Tell you some other time.)

Killing Time

You know what, actually the most effective way to overcome jet lag is to keep yourself busy during the daytime. Just keep working.

However, I never wanted to try this remedy. Why? Simply because I'm quite a mellow person.

But this time, I really wish to get over it ASAP. Why? Simply because I have a date on this Friday!!! I wanna shake away tiredness and look great on that special day.


Chean gave the invitation card to me as soon as I touched down last Sunday. Sweet *.*

Yay, Chean is going to get me something from Tiffany&Co~~

So I thought it would be very nice if I can bake something (no more cupcakes) as a little celebration for high tea and tomorrow breakfast. Hmm... it really sounds like a great idea, why not?

Let's give butter cake a try ;)

I know, I know, I love my kitchen too, especially the luxurious wooden cabinets. And what you've seen is just part of it :p


Miyaki is "looking after" my butter cake, hehe... Love my new Bosch oven too!


Eventually, he got tire and squeezed into his tiny bed. What a big baby!

What's Coming Up?

It's 12.23pm now according to U.S. time zone.

However, I feel like I'm forcing myself to wake up in the middle of the night. It's actually 4.23am in Malaysia, I can hear you snore.

Jet lag is not fun. And I often get really bad jet lag even after all these years :'(

Just imagine the feeling of turning your body clock upside down out of sudden, so in effect your body will only signal one respond--tiredness. Eventually, it causes dark circles and dry skin.

My skin looks fine from far distance (must be further than 3 feet a least) but horribly terrible when face to face. I'm searching, hunting, and buying necessary skincare and makeup products right now. I've bought some at Taipei airport but still looking for more.

So, the next thing coming up on Beverly's Secret would be more or less related to 1)beauty products, or 2) my new apartment.

Maybe many of you do not know that Chean and I have moved to a new apartment. Well, it's a condo actually. Miyaki now got more space to run around and Chean has his own studio ;)

As always, I'm living a very content and happy life though I'm a little overwhelm by all sort of life changes recently especially when I saw Miyaki at the airport.

My bad. How could I literally abandoned my secret garden for 3 months!!! I don’t know how I did it actually.

Noop. Not because of my grandma. I’m doing great, living life as usual.
