#2 The trend is still hitting the streets, but I didn't get to taste it until 2 months ago, when I was looking for ViVi at Narita Airport in this September.

Introducing BS Fun Fact

S.U.R.P.R.I.S.E everyone! Another new fun stuff is being introduced to BS today!

When I talked to Chean about this idea, I remembered him saying something like: you don't have to make yourself so busy you know, you already did a good job on this. Of course lah, I felt so warm when I heard that, I actually expected him to say that too; we are always supportive to each others.

But then I thought, this could be fun! You know, integrating everything in just a blog, like what I did to BC, BV and BS Lookbook before. You can never doubt a blog's potential, and you can never doubt mine either :p

I loves changes and I always strike to change, from outfits, makeup, hair color to the way I handle things. Comfort zone never exist in my dictionary. I adore myself for that spirit, hehe... Alright, without more ado, let me introduce BS Fun Fact to you all ❤❤

It's nothing intellectually stimulating or intelligent, it's just another type of medium to help you know me better. Not really a BS-tells-it-all stuff yet I will disclose some facts that even Chean, my family and friends never noticed/knew before.

So, all you need to do is just sit back, relax and C.L.I.C.K!

How to make a terrarium?

Terrarium was a completely new vocab to me before Chean and I unintentionally explored a store in Portland called Artemisia Garden Nursery & Gallery. If you're still living in Portland, you just have to make time to stop by this tiny little retreat place; all the greens and awesome terrarium creations will peacefully blow your mind away. It's beyond and I'm pretty mad at myself now, I should have bring my camera with me when getting all the materials.


The materials I got for my very first terrarium.


The succulents and desert plants, easier to take care and you don't have to water them very often.


Hematite sand. Love the texture and its shininess so much!


What's this called? It's some sort like a preserved plant to me.

There are a million ways to do this but I choose the simplest one. Hehe...


Place the succulents into the aquarium first, then secure them by slowly pouring hematite sand to fill the space until it covers the soil.


Decorate it with ornaments...



Taa Daa~~ My first attempt on making a terrarium!

This terrarium that I built is now with Qiao and Ying (Rocco's owners if you could recall), our super good friends in Portland. It's just a tiny little gift from us to show our gratitude and appreciation for being so helpful and sincere to us. Miss you guys so much!

Anyway, I'm so going to make another terrarium for my new house in Boulder! Chean promises to let me :p Will share with you guys then~~ That's all for now, remember to come back for more ^_________^V

Linen Napkin!!! (hold your jaw)

I don't have any hair accessories with me now, I travel light this time and all my stuffs are with the moving company. So I thought I could make something nice out of nothing, and I guess I have succeeded since many asked me where I get that from. Even Chean thought I got a new scarf from Coach ^_________^

To those who have wrote to me regarding the big bow, sorry for not replying your emails k. Shameless to say, I really don't know where Marriott Residence Inn got that napkin from @.@ But thanks for loving it!

Go Naked!

Since Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian went nude and unretouched last two weeks, many Hollywood celebrities are now joining the hype by exposing their imperfections to the public.

Britney is proud of her imperfection and all, a source said and apparently these unretouched & unphotoshopped photos are released "to highlight the pressure exerted on women to look perfect."

On the other hand, Kim Kardashian also urged young girls not to overstress on their weights and start embracing their curvy bodies.

Sounds divinely well interpreted...

But one second...

Aren't all these so-called unretouched pictures are still heavily rely on makeup, lighting, soft lenses or anything that could make these stars look as prefect as possible before photoshopped?

Even if the stars revealed their non-makeup pictures, they still have plastic surgery or botox or etc etc etc running underneath their skin. Look at Heidi Montag, she doesn't need any touch-up at all cause she got all the work done before hand.

So perhaps the real definition of unretouched photos does not exist in Hollywood or even in blogoshpere. We are too into perfection, perfect weight, perfect hair color, perfect makeup, perfect dress and the list goes 763028438 pages long.

I do agree with Britney & Kim, we should embrace our true selves (although their 100% unretouched pictures do not seem persuasive to me).

To demonstrate real support, I'm gonna join the march by revealing two of my 100% unretouched photos taken this morning as soon as I brushed my teeth, and yup, with hives some more :p

Wearing the funny schoolteacher glasses and my fave CK and Nike lounge wear with no makeup, no hairdo, no nothing. This is the "original" Bev that Chean sees E.V.E.R.Y.D.A.Y ^_____^

I love both the after-makeup & non-makeup Bev equally well cause they are both myself, just a different version.

It's just like the comp software that you're using, aren't you need to upgrade it from time to time? I'm just adore positive changes, period.

Final thought of the day: you can always say NO to makeup, but you can never say NO to skincare. That's what I think all the girls should really pay attention to. Love yourself by loving your skin first. ❤❤

Get Inspired

Did I ever tell you we have Kinokuniya here in Portland. And that's the only source I could get my fave Japanese magazines when I can no longer think of anything to buy, to wear or to blog. They are the saviors of my dying soul as well as the inspirations.

Let's face it, everyone loves (to see) beautiful thing although we all know perfection is sometimes unreachable; it doesn't hurt if you have the abilities to make the world (maybe the virtual world) more beautiful. By ability, it could be anything from photography, makeup to photoshop skills.

Everyone is doing it, even models and celebraties. C'mon.

Pre-Hawaii Syndrome II

Not intended to prove that I'm able to speak Mandarin but to prove that I'm no longer fluent in speaking Mandarin T______T

I constantly checked the online Chinese dictionary for pronunciation accuracy and I found myself running out of adjective, vocab and words. Shame on me.

All the countless NG shots get my nerve until one point I stupidly shout at the camera and told Chean I'm gonna give up cause I can never do it right.

This is the 5th time, yet I can never say the sentence right, not even once.

You know what, basically Chean witnessed all my NGs, bloomers and cuckoo shots, he was just sitting at the dinning table right next to me. Then, I swear, I saw him giggling at my back when I was recording the whole thing!!! T______T

It's ok if I can no longer speaking in Mandarin but I can't stand Chean looking at me like a pathetic cuckoo lady trying too hard to increase her blog readership, it's just not right because all the girly, cute, sweet and graceful images that I've created (though he might not get it) went down to drain.

BS Photo Booth

You probably have noticed I never mentioned about my P.I.N.K. corner anymore. I do have it set up in my bedroom, with a cozy day bed, a pink cabinet and a tiny desk but the corner is now stack up with magazines, books, clothes, and miscellaneous stuffs.

You know what, I have no motivation for the pink corner's decoration anymore. When you know that you might be constantly moving from one place to another, you'll probably understand my situation. S.I.G.H.

Gong Xi Valentine's

Here come my favorite month of the year, February! There are so much to celebrate in this month.

Needless to say, 2010 lunar calender doubles up the happiness for our beautiful tradition, Chinese New Year (CNY), with romantic Valentine's Day on 14th of February.

Imagine, celebrating Valentine's Days with your grandparents rather than your significant half, it's speechlessly indescribable.

Congrats to those who are still single though, you don't need to scratch (or knock or drill) your head for a beautifully flawed excuses on V day. Just for this year though, sorry.

Good news for all the boyfriends and hubbies too, you can finally sit back, relax and save money (hopefully) on this Valentine's. What? Your girlfriend or wife is not working, it's CNY, hello... No one is going to cheer, admire or envy her thousand roses, just save it for next year.

I know, I know, I know how exciting it feels! I can't wait for it too! In fact, I did a special Gong Xi Valentine's edition for all of you!!!

Chean hasn't show me any sign yet. Perhaps it'll be a pretty ordinary one this year since both of us are super busy. But I'm sure I'm going to have loads of fun!

I usually celebrate my birthday for a week.

Why? It's the D.O.B of a gorgeous angle! Isn't she glamor and holy enough to deserve a week celebration? In fact, I already started the celebration last Sat. Hehe... Don't worry, I'll blog about it for sure.

It's truly my ultimate wish to spread happiness to everyone, despite their ages, ethnics and genders. I truly believe happiness is "contagious" :p
