Chloe Takes New York (End)

(You may read the Part I before confusing yourself about this posting :p)


#1 Went back to the hotel to meet up with Jenny & Terry after the MoMA trip, also to let BB take a break from the packed schedule.


#2 But she's no interested in taking her nap at all :p


#3 Thank you Auntie Jenny & Uncle Terry for the Ang Pow (red packet)!


#4 It was pretty chilly that night so we all decided to grab dinner at Grand Central Oyster Bar, which is located at right downstairs, connecting to the hotel building.

#11 Grand Hyatt New York's lobby... Highly recommended this hotel (again, you have to read the Part I to find out why); it's one of our fave hotels in NY.

So glad that the wonderful (also worrisome, hectic & rush) NY trip has finally came to an end; Chean & I have never felt so good to be home :p All the good memories, including the pics and even this blog post are precious keepsakes for BB; for that very reason, we never regret having our first family trip in NY. We shall plan on another family trip soon, hooray!

****************** Pillow Talk ****************

Whenever I'm reaching my breaking point (especially the first 3 months), I helplessly ask myself why on earth am I doing this to my poor self? My ugly nails, big fat ass, tiresome look, then the endless sleepless nights, tedious daily life... The idea of having a baby is seriously no joke, and the fact that you already have one simply means no life. I'm not ready for all these sudden changes, nope, definitely not a baby. No one will be 100% ready for that I swear, although they think they are, until you have your little one crying right at your face every hour.

Life is no longer as easy as it used to be. The responsibilities that I'm carrying on my shoulder make me few pounds heavier. However, every time I look at Bao Bao, her tiny movement melts my heart, warms my tears. The life that I'm having right now, it's not about my selfish self anymore, it has gone way beyond and evolved into something greater--A family. My ugly nails are BB's thumbie; my big fat ass helped me survive the toughest pregnancy and helped bring a beautiful angel to live; my tiresome look is a living portfolio of my rewarding though unpaid work; the endless sleepless nights make me a better & a more informed parent when shits happened; and the tedious daily life reminds me that the sacrifices are all impermanent because baby grows way faster than we thought. In fact, Bao Bao just turned 6 months old this week. Ya, 6 months have passed and I'm still surviving. From today onwards, I'm gonna slowly pick myself up and continue to rock this lifelong journey together with the love of my life, and the angel baby God sent me.

Chloe Takes New York

It was the most distressing trip ever. Hands down to Daddy Chean & Mama Bev, and also Chloe Bao Bao for being such a good baby throughout this 3 days/2 nights trip in NY.

Supposedly, the trip was scheduled on 4th of Nov but we decided to move the trip 2 weeks later due to Hurricane Sandy. We changed our flight; a total of $100 change fee charged on top of the $230 extra we paid for the price difference. Then, we changed the hotel check-in date; another $200++ gone down to the drain after the price adjustment. Apparently the hotel daily rate marked down to $100++ lower than our initial hotel booking yet we won't be able to get the difference back. How ridiculous? I don't think we should be held liable for the changes made under this unforeseen circumstances; that just doesn't make sense to me. Therefore, after making several calls and writing in three letters of complaint (ya, that's part of a frivolous housewife's daily activity), we managed to negotiate for a full refund for the change fee (the airline) & price difference (the hotel). So grateful for the attentive customer service we both received at Frontier Airline & Grand Hyatt New York, although the Grand Hyatt New York gave me a hard time at the very beginning.

Okay, enough of the the rants & grunts, here goes the pics of Bao Bao on her first flight & her first trip to NY! Bao Bao really does make everything better ❤❤


#1 Happy baby but exhausted mum with tousled hair! I only got 3 hours sleep the night before the journey embarked, traveling with baby is so stressful can! I rechecked the packing list for n times and I really had all the stuff on board with us, except my Xiu Bak (小白), the iPhone. Boo Hoo!!! Being phoneless for 3 days is as painful as having the monthly period (T___T).


#2 BB was doing surprisingly good; it shocked me! Zero wailing :D


#3 Took a bottle and drove herself to ZZZzzz land, just like her usual daily schedule supposed to be. The lady next to us thanked us sincerely after the 4-hour flight saying that she never seen such a good baby. Her words did make my day but hmm... Maybe she should come live with us :p
