Gong Xi Gong Xi Gong Xi Ni... (it means congratulation in Mandarin)

Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is often called the Lunar New Year. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year's Eve is known as Chúxī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".

Celebrated in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese, Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors, as well as cultures with whom the Chinese have had extensive interaction.

Yup, I cut and paste the statement from Wikipedia.

This post reminded me of my reunion dinner when I was a child last time.

Retrospect to 15 years ago, My father's brothers and wives whom I call them as uncle and auntie booked 30 tables the restaurant in the hotel for our family's reunion dinner every year. Almost 200+ people were attending it.

We deemed it should be one of the biggest celebrations within the family. Ironically, back then to now, this scene does no longer exist when my uncles and aunties passed away as time goes by and at the same time the household problem happened... now the reunion dinner is stopped, so as other important Chinese festive celebration. =]
