The Ultimate Beauty Secret - Falsie

I know you guys have been asking the same question again and over again - How to apply falsie or fake eyelashes?

As usual, I will provide the same answer again and over again - PRACTICE!!!

That's the only trick to get it done perfectly. You have to try and practice. Of course, don't wear falsie outside of the house (or your room) for the first time. You need some times to get used to it, to understand it and also to figure out the tricks to rock them.

For beginner, it's never to late to make yourself look perfect. Just follow the steps below are be pretty :)

Step 1
Get yourself a soft and natural eyelashes. I know you want or love dramatic falsie but you don't want to frighten your friends or families for the first time. Just get a natural one for practice purpose.


I'm using Revlon falsie (91003 Flirty) and Maybeline adhesive for this demo.

Why Maybeline's adhesive but not Revlon?
There are two types of adhesive: 1) Black (which is the one that come with Revlon falsie, and 2) Transparent (the Maybeline one). Personally, I prefer transparent adhesive, it's easier to wipe off when I make a mistake. It's up to you though, both are the same.

Step 2
Don't glue them first! Always measure the length of the falsie. If it is too long, trim it; if it is too short, sorry, you bought a wrong one :( Don't toss it, you can use it for lower lashes (wait for next tutorial, maybe :p)


Gently measure it closer to your eyelash line.

Step 3
Now glue them, one at a time.


Experts will suggest you to use a tweezer while applying glue on falsie. But I think it's ok to use you fingers :) It works better for me.


Evenly apply the glue and wait for 15-20 seconds. Use Q-tip or cotton bud to wipe off the extra glue, not fingers. Don't wait for too long also, the glue will dry out. As soon as you see the glue starts turning into transparent color, that's the perfect time!

Step 4 (the hardest part!!!)
Now glue the falsie as close as possible to your eyelash line. You have to be patient. It's ok to mess things up for the first time but don't give up. Keep trying, repeat the previous steps if necessary. Then, let it dry. You can apply black eyeliner to cover or hide the falsie's glue.

Now, I'm going to show you the magic. This will motivate you to keep trying and keep trying until you do it right!


BEFORE. Smile and angle do play a magic role too. I have to pick the ugliest picture in order to display the dramatic effect. Just bear with me, k?

Well, I look like a sick person. Make up is alright, but just not very attractive. I really don't wanna show this picture!!! I'm super Ah Lian in this picture @.@

But after applying fake eyelashes...

Taaaa... Daaaa....

AFTER. Told you, I really can't live without falsie :'(


It looks so pretty from all different angles.

P/P/S: Sorry, my bad. I should clarify it. Remember to curl and mascara after applying falsie. This will make the falsie looks more natural and more like your original lashes.

Thanks for asking, gals. You will need an eye and lips makeup remover, cotton pad and Q-tips. I should do another posting to show you guys the right way of doing it. Just try to be really gentle while removing your falsie now! I'll be back with more tutorial next time :)

Brow Job

Hahaha.. Yeah, I purposely wanna make the title sounds nasty :p

Many have sent me emails and massages asking me how to use Majolica Majorca eyebrow pencil and Kate eyebrow color at the same time.

So, I decided to do a quick eyebrow color tutorial for you guys.


That is me! With my original eyebrow. Well, I don't have nice eyebrow. They were born originally horizontal, seriously. I trim them shorter to give them arches.

Look at the original eyebrow color. Hmm... It just doesn't seem right to me.

So, what I do is...



Using MM eyebrow pencil (Sword Cut BR782) to define the arch and the tail of my eyebrow. Start drawing from the arch to the tail.

Yup, what you see is true. I have a chicken pox scar on my forehead. I used to photoshop it away but I wanna "keep it" now :p I guess I begin to realize Vladimir Horowitz quote, "Perfection itself is imperfection”.



Then, use Kate eyebrow color (golden) to temporally dye the eyebrow into golden brown color. Evenly color them.

Remember to repeat the same steps for both side. Now, you will be thrilled by the result.

Taaaa... Daaaa...

The make-up base is so so. I prefer liquid make-up base than powder one. I am using MM powder make-up base as loose powder to add a final touch on my foundation.

Good value at good price! It does what it promised! I will definitely recommend this to friends. My sister is using this as well :)

Very pigmented! If you are looking a glittery luxurious eyeshadow, this is something to go for.

OMG, I just can't live without this! The sword cut makes it so handy while defining the shape of my eyebrow. There is a trick to use this pencil magically too, use it together with Kate Liquid Eyebrow Color!


Kate Eyebrow Color (golden) ★★★★★
Together with the MM brow pencil, it will complete your Japanese model's look. I am not joking. I bought two of them because the color matches my hair color so well.


Eyelash Curler from Jusco ★★★☆☆
I forgot I have this in my cosmetic bag though :p But it is very useful when you need to partially curl your eyelashes, especially falsie. It is very affordable, why not owning one?

I love it as a make-up base than its whitening effects, good coverage for pores and uneven skin tone. But I love CHANEL previous Blanc make-up base better (they discontinued that). Remember to apply enough moisturizer before using it. Yup, different make-up base color has different usage.


CHANEL Concealer Stick (Beige Clair) ★★☆☆☆
Sorry, I won't recommend this. Poor coverage, dry and cakey. Period. :'(


Lancome Generating New Whiteness Spot Eraser ★★★★★
Love it. It's pricey but it does the job. Apply this at night and you'll feel your skin refreshingly smooth the next day morning.

Chean moved into our new house alone (FYI, I was in M'sia that time) with Miyaki. Poor him, he did everything by himself. Basically from furnishing to photo shooting! I won't still any credit from him.

What did I contribute? Well, this house is a soulless shell without my present. See, I did a lot of work.


We added a little warmth to it.


Then a little love (only when I am cooking or baking).


And a lot of laughters (especially watching The Sex and The City).


Everything is generated from this little space. Without this room, Chean is not able to provide. Work hard, Chean :p


So, this is our hotel-ish home :)


Families and friends, don't worry, Chean still promise me a quality life though he bullies me from time to time :p

So, Chean and I went to apply my social security card (I'm not sure what's that for, but I know I need that to get a job) this afternoon at downtown.

After waiting for about 30 mins, one of the staff called my number. I headed to the counter and handed the grandma all the documents including my working permit, passport and ID.

You know what, I was truly amazed by her take-your-own-sweet-time attitude and her I-do-not-believe-you expression...

Another new wave

One of the greatest advantages of living in States is that I can get my favorite TIME magazine right at my door before I reach for it at the news stand. Of course, I can do that in Malaysia too, but I would probably reading a July issue in September.

Although many claim that TIME demonstrates biases in certain aspects, I still think it is an informative reading material that everyone should have. We are biased too, why judge so hard?

Speaking of information, TIME talks about Google's latest product, Wave, in its latest October issue. As soon as I finished skimming the 2 pages article, I was overwhelmingly defeated by this tech news.

What Wave does? What's so interesting about it? Well, basically Wave does everything.

I wish I could document the whole process of how I get my nail done (yup, the DIY process) but I usually do my nails at night, after typing, cleaning, bathing and gaming.

Unfortunately, my 5 mega pixels camera doesn't allow me to take nice pictures at night, I've tried my very best. Sorry gals, I'll try to do better next time :'(
