Just a quickie to prove that I'm still alive :p

Sorry girls... I've been busy with studies and assignments recently (the ultimate excuse that no one can complain :p).

Besides studying, I'm working hard to mix and match my old and new clothes, especially those stuffs I've bought long long time ago yet never wore. Gonna sort out some new creative ways to put them in use, again!


For example, the purple legging that I bought on last January.

I don't even realize I got this legging sleeping in my drawer for about a year until I clean up the room @.@ Super excited for the fact that I'm still able to wear it although it's quite last season :p

Anyway, the weekend is finally here and I know many of you might be busy shopping for CNY! How exciting!!!

Dream a little dream of smoky

Your long-awaited request is finally granted. Everyone wants a piece of my Let It Smoke smoky eye makeup.

But you know what, you definitely won't see me wearing that in real life, unless on special occasions such as Halloween. I mean seriously, who will need that kind of heavy eye do everyday?

I did the Let It Smoke makeup simply for the sake of photo shooting. Ok, I admit, also to wow you guys about my makeup skill but personally, I prefer a sweet, and a little, just a little sexy look.

What you are about to see is a "versatile" yet dreamy makeup that you can wear everyday to college, to work, to date, to shop or simply to make yourself feel good. It's easier, simpler and less smoky compare to Let It Smoke but it's sophisticated enough to catch others attention ;)

Important notes!!!

1) Always remember to start off with clean face, follow by toner, moisturizer, sunscreen or anything necessary.

2) When working on makeup that emphasize the eyes, opt for a good foundation and concealer. That will help give you a flawless touch, eventually it brings more attention to your eyes.

For this tutorial, I start off with Make Up Forever HD liquid foundation, Amazing Concealer and Laura Mercier Loose Powder.


Firstly, apply the eyeshadow primer to make the color last longer and to avoid it from smudging. I'm using Urban Decay Shadow Primer.


Then, pick a light brown color to slightly define your brows. A little goes a long way. Do not overly define your brows because we want a dreamy look. I'm using Coastal Scent 88 Warm Palette.


Choose a champagne color to highlight the brow bones and lids. I'm using my all time favorite Mac eyeshadow, Jest.

** Pardon my weird expressions. It's really hard to take a real good picture while you were busy painting your eyes @.@ Just bare with me.


Apply dark brown color on the outer corner. Do not attempt to create a "V" shape or bring it upward, simply follow the shape of your eyes.

Now, blend these two colors by bringing the champagne to the dark brown. It's easier to control the tone in that way.


By using the eyeliner brush, apply black color eyeshadow as eyeliner. For this tutorial, I try to use minimal amount of black. You can always put more if you prefer a smokier one.


Draw a thin eyeliner closer to your lash lines. Here I'm using Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner.


Use a Q-tip (Yes, I got a pink one) and dab it with the Champagne color that we just used. Apply it on the tear ducts.


Now, it's time to curl your lashes! I'm using Maybelline lash curler which I'll definitely NOT recommend. I'll grab a new one from Shu Eumura when I have time to shop.

** Yup, I put the kitty cellphone charm on my lash curler. Love the sound of the tiny bell every time I touch it ❤❤


Then, pick your falsies! I use the half-cut falsies, why? Always remind yourself about the magical word, D.R.E.A.M.Y~~


Apply mascara on the upper and lower lashes. I'm using Loreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara here.


Create the never-go-out-of-style cheeks look by lightly brushing through your apple cheeks. Clinique blush, 108 cupid.

Last but definitely not least, apply lip balm or lip gloss and you are all set!

Happy Birthday, Miyaki

Miyaki just turned one yesterday! Chean and I were overjoyed, over excited and overwhelmed about his slightly over the top celebration.

We drove four hours and traveled 166 miles to Cannon Beach just to make his big day special.

Miyaki adores nature and outdoor activities. He's one of the kind, an extraordinary Shih Poo with charming characteristics.

He is the best pet and "bestest" doggie ever!

Ok, I need some time to be alone and stroll around the street without worrying about Miyaki in order to compensate myself for being such a good mom :p

Purple Budget - Inspired by Maybelline

Have you feeling drab recently? Is it a boring face you see in front of the mirror everyday?

Perhaps it's time to perk up yourself!

Although I'm very brand conscious, I am famous as a bargain hunter too! So, this time I'm going to do a very affordable and low budget eye makeup tutorial. Most of the products are easily accessible in M'sia.


Introducing Maybelline Color Plush. (an Elle magazine scan piccie)

I do smoky eyes most of the time and never try purple eyeshadow before. Gonna push myself upon limit and give it a try ;)


So, I grabbed this for only US$ 9.90 at Rite Aid.

Before we get started, make sure to apply toner, moisturizer, sunblock or whatever important to your daily skincare routine on a clean face. Then, set your foundation.


I use Legere BB cream and Marjolica Marjorca powder as foundation.

When the foundation is done, remember to define your eyebrow (click HERE if you have no idea how to draw your eye brows).

Now, let's the fun begin~~


A quad eyeshadow palette is good enough to create an eye-catching look. Each color has different functionality. I labeled each color with a number for better clarification.


Use Color 1 to highlight your brow bone and lightly bring it forward to your tear duct.


Then, dab Color 2 on your lid and crease. Don't be greedy, add the color incrementally and stop at the center of your lid.


Now, slightly wet your brush by dabbing it into a wet tissue.


See the differences? The dry brush (1) brings out light and soft color while the wet one (2) makes the color vividly shimmer.

So, wet the brush and dab on Color 3. Continue to work on the rest of the lids and creases.


Then, apply Color 4 on the outer corner, bring it upward. Remember, less is more.


Now, use a clean brush to blend the colors to create a harmony tone. Do not over blend.


After that, apply a thin layer of brown eyeliner. A black one will be too overwhelming. Here, I'm using Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner.


You should be able to create this tone after applying the eyeliner.


Important step!!! Pick your favorite falsie and put it on! See, it dramatically glams up the look.


Grab your mascara, any mascara will work. Here, I'm using Loreal new Telescopic Explosion.


The new Loreal mascara is easier to control the amount of application on falsie. Don't forget your lower lashes too~~

The eyes are done! However, a look never complete without cheeks and lips colors.


As usual, I'm using my favorite Jane Bronzer but just the while shade this time.


Highlight your under eye area and upper cheeks instead of your cheekbone. We want to make the eyes pop, so no blushes needed.


Highlight your nose and forehead too.


Now, your lips. I'm using Revlon lipstick in nude.


And Beverly's Choice Wet & Wild lip gloss in Cotton Candy~~

Tada~~ You are good to go!!!
