Soup! Soup! Soup!

Weekend is finally here!!! For those who are always busy with works and assignments, maybe it's time to take care of your health and well being this week. Oh girls, this blog post is so dedicated to you...

Because it's all about Chinese traditional beauty S.O.U.P! And that also means I'm reveling another secret of fighting aging ^________^V

sss_front
Ok, it's not that mysterious actually. This product is super accessible in U.S, you can get it at any Asian grocery stores.

sss_back
The directions are all printed at the back of the packaging. E.A.S.Y job!

sss_ingredients
The ingredients that come with the package:
1) Lodoicea callipyge
2) Semen coicis
3) Dried lily buds
4) Semen pruni armeniacae
5) Nelumbo nucifera
6) Dried Chinese pears
7) Radix glehniae

Oh, gosh! Hate those scientific names that contribute nothing except making me pening kepala (dizzy) @.@ I hope I mark them correctly, do let me know if you catch any typo @.@

sss_ingredients2
These are the extra ingredients you need:
1) Pork ribs
2) Red date
3) Dried boxthorn fruit

* I love adding dried scallops too, but thanks to the hives, I can't consume any seafood right now :(

So just put everything into the pot and boil over high heat, for about 30 mins. Then simmer with low heat for about three hours.

Oh, one tip to share, I usually wait for the water to boil first before putting all the ingredients in; they, I mean my mum and aunties said that will help get rid of the porky taste ^_______^

sss_soup
Viola~~ The finest final product!!!

It's just that simple, all you need are 3 teaspoons of patience, 1/2 cup of intelligence (what? you need to know how to read in order to understand the direction right?) and 4 big cups of lovessss... towards yourself of course.

spring_me3
Have a beautiful weekend ❤❤

R.E.D

Thursday, April 29, 2010

R.E.D = (sexy + cool)/(glamor X fierce) ≈ A.T.T.I.T.U.D.E

If you're looking for something to splurge on this week, choose R.E.D! It's the only bright color that will never ever go out of style.

I don't think you need any solid evidence to verify that cause you can easily name a few stars that are/were famous with their signature red lips, from Marilyn Monroe to Dita Von Teese to Gwen Stefani to Lady Gaga. And I'm joining them now, well, at least once in a while :D

red_me2
Called me Captain Bev. Sit back, relax, and we're ready to take off :D

red_me4
The schoolteacher/nerdy look.

red_me1
Many asked me where I get the glasses/frame from. It was actually a 3D glasses for Avatar 3D Imax; I removed the films and used it solely for photo purposes.

("Huh!!?? You suppose to return the glasses right?" I guess so, but I saw everyone was busy putting their glasses in their bags after the show, so I thought to just keep one as souvenir, since it was my first 3D movie after all.)

red_me3
This one is not heavily photoshopped, I swear. It's the lighting.

My lips aren't like super red compare to those celebrities mentioned above. Excuse me, I have ultra thick lips ok (which I really like cause no botox needed). I don't want to end up looking like two Taiwan sausages hanging on my face, that'll be beyond juicy and too mouth-watering. Good for food but not for makeup.

red_longshot2
My outfit of the day. Took Miyaki out for a walk after school.

theredfactors_lookbook

Chean asked something like: "You're in Navy Blue, where got R.E.D?" while I was editing and composing this posting. So I told him red is an attitude, it's something little extra to spice up your style, like the side dish that comes along with the main course, it completes your meal.

To me, too much red will spoil the look. No one wants to walk down the street looking like a living God of Wealth (cai shen ye) right? Especially in a foreign country.

Good luck,
Bev

P/S: A millions apologies again, BV has to be on hold cause I got my hands full with assignments and projects. Now we only down to two voice clips, wish I could really spend more time working on them and deliver awesome good works. But hey, you already seen me blogging so hard, support more and be more understanding, k? Promise there are more awesomeness to come ^_______*

Let's Fimo~~

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

So you asked the typical how-to-use question when you first saw me blogging about the fimo sticks I got from Hawaii...

fimostick1
fimostick3
Fruits fimo sticks.

And my answer is as easy as One, Two, Three ❤❤

fimostick2
Cut them into small pieces, not too thin and not too thick, that's all you need to do.

And just glue them on your nails or anywhere that you could possibility think of, say, your bf's blackberry. For me, I glue them on...

PMN_nail1
My nails of course...

Don't judge, my nails are real short now and I clearly understand that the fruity fimo will look cuter if my nails are longer. I just want to demonstrate how it was done.

It was my very first attempt anyway, trying to place those tiny little oranges, kiwis and lemons to maximize the limited space. Guess I can do a better job next time!

So, after reading through the whole thing, maybe your head is pondering with another question now: Can we recycle the fine chopped fimo? I pop this out cause there are few friends of mine asking whether they could/should reuse the artificial nails.

It's definitely a "NO" for the artificial nails; for the fimo, I usually trash them right way although they kinda look new. I really don't want to give fungi/bacterias any opportunity to "rebirth", so it's really your choice to make actually ;)

Lastly, a big thank you to those who love my lookbook. It helps me keep track with my styles and collections! Super in love with it, wish you find it helpful too ❤❤

Summertime_lookbook

I have never tried selling my clothes or accessories and I will never sell them either. What I own and what I bought are basically something that could last for a super long period of time or can be used in hundred different ways, say, my LV Palermo GM and Tiffany & Co charms bracelet.

Trust me, the mall is full of temptations and you'll never buy enough. Don't bury yourself with endless credit card debts and work for the banks throughout your entire life, be a smart shopper instead :D

Take Care,
Bev

TWW_esp2
Schedule of the day.

WWE1_me
Madly in love with my eye makeup on that day! Makes my eyes 3 X bigger ❤❤

WWE2_me+longshot
Heart my casual outfit too! It's effortlessly beautiful :D

I'm all set, now, let the wonderful Sunday begin!

WWE2_museum
Visited Disquieted art show at the Portland Art Museum.

No one actually told us that photography is strictly prohibited, so we naively thought Portland Art Museum is just like MoMa in NY, you can snap till you drop (no flash, please) as long as you don't get too close with those multimillion artworks!

We snapped a hell lots of pictures until the security stopped us and asked: "Have you been told that you are not allow to take any pictures in here?"

And we answered with an over-shockingly innocent voice: "NO." @.@

"It's actually written on page 4 on the map," He added.

"Map?! We don't have any map with us." We answered with a even more innocent tone.

Then he kept repeating the same info and warned us about the US$ 25,000 fine if they caught us snapping pictures again, and even told us they have this brilliant technology, system, gadget or whatever that will automatically caused defects to all the pictures we've taken (I don't believe him *roll eyes*).

He spelled his words in an super-ultra-friendly way though. Somehow I felt like he's more to threatening than advising. Well, I don't blame him though, he's just doing his duty. But that incident did spoil my mood a little :(

Anyway, at least I have some cool pictures to share with you all although I may not suppose to. But hey, I wanna check whether the brilliant technology, system, gadget or whatever will effect the photo's quality.

Bah... They look fine :D

WWE2_art4
Canvas painting by a Singaporean artist.

WWE2_art3
The coolest light box ever.

WWE2_art2
Crouching Boy in Mirror, a super famous sculpture by a super talented artist-Ron Mueck. It's too real, crept me inside out. I think I saw this at MoMA NY before.

WWE2_takashi
This is the only reason that drove us to the museum, Murakami Takashi.

Perhaps you don't have the slightest idea or don't even give a damn about Takashi, but you can't ignore his talents, popularity and influence. Remember the LV Multicolor Monogram series? That's his work ;)

WWE2_art+me1
The last picture we took in the museum before kena warning kao kao.

Art museum is fun, but it kinda put me into sleep when I no longer allow to take any pictures. :p

I need a energy boost!

WWE2_thaiicetea
Thai Ice Tea. The only thing that is comparable to Teh Ice in M'sia.

WWE2_me+thaitea
Sooooooooo refreshing~~

WWE2_chaiyo
Yup, I went home for a quick change and brought Miyaki out with us! The weather was too good, I felt bad leaving him alone at home ;)

WWE2_miyaki+me2
Then three of us relaxingly spent the whole evening at Irvington Park...

WWE2_miyaki+me
with load of fun, laughter and S.N.A.C.K.S!

WWE2_miyaki+park
Mummy... Pleeeeeseaaaaa....

WWE2_chean+miyaki
Miyaki and his soul mate :p

We had so much fun spending quality time together, and we didn't want it to stop! So we pulled a table and had dinner on our balcony! Beyond happy ^_______^

And I tweeted that night: Watched the moon comes out as we chitchatting and lepaking outside the house! Seriously, my life never been so great before :D

WWE2_moon
That's the moon, witnessing our happiness and joy :D

~~ The End ~~

WWE2_Kaleidoscope
Got the kaleidoscope at Portland Art Museum gift shop. Always love it but now I'm officially collecting it ❤❤

Wonderful Weekend ❤ Eps 1

TWW_esp1

Last weekend was beyond fabulous! I spent 150% of my time chiefly chilling in the town with Chean & Miyaki.

Although our schedule was pack and we seemed overstretching our time to a point where we have no time to nap at all, I felt like I finally have life here in Portland :D

CWE1_me
Pinky nude lips for my Friday night.

CWE1_me+chapel
Posed in front of a Chapel in downtown while walking on the street.

Deliciously excited cause I managed to do a quick shopping at Victoria's Secret and F21 before dinning, and also successfully squeezed some time to check out...

the new iPad at Apple Store
:D

ipad2
ipad1
Damn chic!!!

As I tweeted like 5 mins ago: "Perhaps iPad is not really the bigger version of iPhone, it's the future..." I truly think so as soon as I laid my hand on that gorgeous gadget. Steve Job is super genius.

I assumed you have no interest to read my Friday night activities and will start browsing about iPad after seeing those two pictures above. Well, good to know, cause I'm lazy to blog about all the details too :p

Move on to Saturday then!

CWE1_miyaki+me1
Now you see me wearing everything from the Spring Lookbook.

CWE1_miyaki+me2
Sent Miyaki over to vet for the Bordetella vaccine follow-up.

CWE1_miyaki+me3
He loves this place because free treats are everywhere! "Mummy, feed me bah!"

Since I did not get any chances to spend quality time with him when I was real sick, I thought to compensate him with a loooooong walk under the warm sun and right beside the beautiful river!

CWE1_miyaki+me5
The weather as well as the view was beyond beautiful!

CWE1_miyaki+chean
But Miyaki's hair is beyond messiness @.@ (Booked his groomer on next Sat)

CWE1_miyaki+me6
Promenading...

CWE1_miyaki+me4
Sayang-ing and baby-talking...

CWE1_miyaki+chean2
The wilderness explorers :D

CWE1_me+dock
Relaxing at the dock...

Right now, I'm so thankful that I'm fully recovered! It's so good to be able to enjoy my life and to be happy again.

Ohh, and to have the opportunity to pass this joy to all of you too!
Stay tuned for the next episode :D

Good day,
Bev

Oudated Mobile Piccies

Sunday, April 25, 2010

I don't know about you, but I love peeking, aheem, I mean browsing all the mobiles pictures on Chean's iPhone. Not that I want to dig any mysterious dark secrets and not that he has any, I simply L.U.R.V.E the flashbacks of all the memories we had together :D Although they are insanely random and outdated :p

Like this one:

iPhone_chean+miyaki
Both of them are soooooo C.U.T.E, crashing on the bean bag! Miyaki's holding his favorite plush toy, King Kong with pressing sound.

iPhone_Miyaki1
A pic I toyed with the Obama poster's apps.

iPhone_miyaki2
Miyaki playing at the dog park near my condo.

iPhone_miyaki3
He always kena bully, sigh. That's why I rather send him to doggie day camp where he can play and social with other doggies under supervision.

iPhone_pancakes
The fattening pancakes, Chean had them in Hawaii. (Told you, it's super random)

iPhone_vintageshop
Spotted this Marie-Antoinette-ish mirror at a vintage boutique.

iPhone_poppy
Poppy, our good friend's daughter, is way too adorable! She's so ready for a ride.

iPhone_crab
Who let the crab out?

iPhone_broder1
Breakfast at Broder, a Swedish cafe. Love the tiny half & half milk bottle.

iPhone_broder+chean
Coffee-ing...

iPhone_broder
Scramble eggs with wild mushrooms and cheese, plus a potato pancake side dish.

iPhone_broder+me2
I eat first ah! Itadakimasu!!

iPhone_broder+me1
Don't be too surprise, I do have dark circles and eye bags. Hello, I'm just a human.

The broder's piccies make me super hungry now! So going to get dress and hunt for breakie, with Chean of course! Catch up with you all tomorrow. Muaksss~~

Hugs and Kisses,
Bev
