Pathetically, we have steamboat on CNY eve(T_T). My cooking skill sucks, that’s why we always end up with steamboat on any special occasion. What to do, I wish I could make it like a Chinese restaurant’s Menu but you know, I know, everybody knows, I never cook at home over all these year. So, steamboat is the easiest way, less preparation and self-service.
Just finished eating, kinda lazy to buzz around. Compiled some pictures for you, just scroll down for further explanation.
Feed our refrigerator before CNY. It’s not full, but good enough for 2 persons.
Bring you to tour around the kitchen in the mean while.
Seasoning and sauces. All dishes from me taste the same (sorry, darling).
Snacks and chips. Lay’s, my favorite.
When you are about to start pitying my hubby, it's time for me to show off a little. Although I'm not a good cook (and have no potential to be one), I'm sensitive in food presentation(I really think so).
Mum, hold your tears, I know you are taking the pride. The dumplings and "Yong tofu" are made by me. Not bad huh?
Stop guessing who's in our guest list, you'll fill with despair.
All the steamboat ingredients are for two of us!!! SHOCK!? Obviously, we won't be able to clear things up. We could only consume quarter. Just wanna spread out everything on the table for CNY's sake. By the way, please ignore my housewife's look without make up, I'm worn out after a hard day in kitchen.
Alright, it's time for second round!
Happy Chinese New Year again! (greeting with mouth full)
This will be my first and last time to celebrate CNY in western country (darling, I’m serious!).
