Fish Porridge ❤❤

Monday, August 9, 2010

I don't eat beef or lamb and I'm not a big pork eater either (except Bah Ku Teh :p), so fish and chicken are my main sources of protein. Therefore, any dishes remotely related to F.I.S.H is unquestionably my favorite, yum! (Click here to read my homemade steamed fish recipe.)

Ahheem... Today, I'm going to unveil another satisfying meal -- fish porridge, it is super easy to make and full of protein ;)

FP_fillet
Marinated fresh fish slices for about 30 minutes with the ingredients showed below.

ingredients
1) Oyster sauce, 2) Pepper, 3) Sesame oil & 4) Soy sauce.

porridge1
Bring white rice and water to boil, and simmer until the rice turns into a porridge-like texture. Remember to stir occasionally. You can use a pot but I prefer to use rice cooker. Add ginger and spring onion to bring extra flavor to the porridge (optional).

I usually cook a big pot of porridge but I can never finished everything all at once. Here's what I do to keep the fish fresh and tasty without over cooking it.

porridge3
Put approximately a bowl of porridge that you just made into another pot, broil it with the marinated fish slices for about 10 minutes. (See, don't put the fish slices into the porridge pot all at once, cook it only when you want to eat it.)

FP_scallion+ginger
When fish slices are cooked, serve with chopped spring onion (scallion, green onion or whatever you want to call it) and ginger. Then flavored it with the four ingredients listed above.

porridge2
Viola~~ Seriously, I can eat this everyday :D

Hope you like it. Have a yummylicious day!

Enjoy,
Bev
