Show it OFF

Summer is fun if you don't mind to singe yourself under the scorching sun by showing a little bit of your skin. I'm not sure about you, but to me, off-shoulder tops/dresses are to die for ever since I was 9, I'm not exaggerating when I say this.

I still vividly remember my first off-shoulder dress I wore for my 10th birthday; it's a deep sea blue dress with a huge fabric rose brooch on the left. I chose the dress myself and told my mum, "I want this, this is my birthday party dress." Unfortunately, I was raised in traditional and conservative family where fashion sounded worse than a grade E in my report card; my mum shook her head right away and I saw disappointment and worries crossed over her face. She then persuaded me to get the sailor top and pants set instead. I cried a little, yup, in the store, and bought the sailor set to avoid unwanted troubles.

When I got home, I hung the sailor set in the closet and sobbed as hard as I can. It's not that I hate it, but it's not the one I loved and I can't see myself wearing it on my birthday party. So I struck. I stop eating and crying non-stop and even refused to go out from the room throughout the day (bad example I know but that was the only solution I could think of, I needed to give a last try, don't forget I was only 9).

Then miracle happened. I woke up the next day seeing the deep blue sea dress that I adored displaying right in front of me. My dad bought it as my birthday present, haha, I won. It's pretty stupid when I look back, but without all these stupid and vain personalities, I wouldn't be the Beverly I am today. Of course, I don't seem to get compliments all the time, but I never stop learning to make myself look better, with off-shoulder clothing listed as the top choice always.
